Mr. Wasson's practice emphasizes mergers and acquisitions, financings, general corporate practice, and federal and state taxation, including representation of business and individual clients in tax controversy and litigation matters. He has represented clients in many high stakes tax controversy cases including cases before the United States Tax Court, California state courts, the State Board of Equalization and the Multistate Tax Commission, as well as administrative appeals and protests before state and federal tax authorities. His client list is diverse, ranging from some of the largest worldwide food distribution companies to family-owned start-up companies and private equity funds. His clients include companies from a broad range of industries including food import and distribution, medical products manufacturing and distribution, entertainment ( film and game distribution), motor sports, professional services, consumer product distribution, traditional durable manufacturing, freight companies, and real estate management and development.

Mr. Wasson is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in California and the United States Tax Court. Prior to his affiliation with GGWS, he was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley. Earlier in his career, he was a senior manager in the tax and mergers and acquisitions group of PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he earned a California CPA license. He has taught national continuing education classes in the areas of tax planning for business start-ups as well as partnership and LLC taxation. He is an author of the California CEB Guide Selecting and Forming Business Entities.
