Mr. Wasson's practice emphasizes mergers and acquisitions, financings, general corporate practice, and federal and state taxation, including representation of business and individual clients in tax controversy and litigation matters. He has represented issuers and investors in public and private securities offerings, and has counseled clients in a number of high profile merger and acquisition transactions, including representation of international clients in transactions which access US capital sources. He also represents clients in a number of specialized administrative law areas including the representation of medical product manufacturers in Medicare reimbursement coding disputes, and food importers in anti-dumping disputes and related matters with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Department. His client list is diverse ranging from some of the largest worldwide food distribution companies to family-owned start-up companies and private equity funds. He has particularly strong industry expertise in food import and distribution, medical products manufacturing and distribution, entertainment, motor sports, professional services, consumer product distribution, traditional durable manufacturing, and real estate.
Mr. Wasson is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in California and the United States Tax Court. Prior to his affiliation with GGWS, he was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley. Earlier in his career, he was a senior manager in the tax and mergers and acquisitions group of PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he earned a California CPA license. He has taught national continuing education classes in the areas of tax planning for business start-ups as well as partnership and LLC taxation. He is an author of the California CEB Guide Selecting and Forming Business Entities.
